Teaching Materials
Individuals and the staff of organizations can quickly and cost-effectively gain access to our educational strategy through a range of training materials. Our materials are designed to help staff learn about our:

A. The Question Formulation Technique
Purpose: To teach anyone how to generate, improve and strategize on how to use their own questions regarding any issue or topic they select.
Description: This workshop and guide provides an opportunity to learn our core technique for generating questions, improving the questions and strategizing on how to use them. The guide provides an explanation of our method and discusses some of the challenges you might face in using it. It also provides step-by-step directions for implementing a workshop to teach others how to formulate their own questions.

B. The Tool
Purpose: To build the capacity of adults to support, monitor and advocate for their children’s education.
Description: This contains a series of five individual workshops that offer opportunities to learn the Question Formulation Technique (see above or link) and explore three specific roles parents or key adults can play as supporters, monitors and advocates for their children's education. Participants will practice their question formulation skills and apply them to specific topics: Curriculum, Placement, Standards and Assessment, School Environment and Decision-Making Processes.

C. Applying QFT To Health Care: Using Questions to Advocate for My Child
Purpose: To teach RQP methods to parents and involved adults to help them better support and monitor their children’s health and to advocate for their health care needs when necessary.

D. Teaching Students to Formulate Their Own Questions: A Teacher's Guide
Purpose: To teach students of any age to develop their question formulation skills
- K-12
- Adult learners
Description: The purpose of this guide is to help teachers learn how to integrate the teaching of the skill of question formulation into their work with students. The guide helps teachers and adult educators consider the shift in practice required to get students, rather than teachers, asking questions. Specific methods are presented for helping student learn how to generate their own questions, improve their questions and strategize on how to use them. The guide provides suggestions and practice opportunities for teachers to learn how to design their own “question prompts.”
