Resources

The RQP educational strategy is very simple. No need to absorb hundreds of pages of curricula and training guides, no need to digest lots of information, and no need to go through extensive training. The RQP Strategy is designed to be simple, easy to learn, easy to teach and easy to integrate into on-going work with others.

Shift in Practice: There is one major challenge in teaching the RQP educational strategy. It requires a small, but significant shift in practice.

A shift:

From asking questions of clients, patients, parents and service recipients
to  facilitating people asking their own questions.

From problem-solving for people
to helping people learn to problem solve for themselves

From advocating on behalf of people
to building their capacity to advocate for themselves

From giving information to people and telling them what to do
to helping them learn to name what they want to know, need to know and can find out for themselves.
